Respiratory Therapy
The respiratory therapy department provides diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to assist providers in diagnosing and treating pulmonary disorders. Licensed respiratory therapists work with patients who have trouble breathing; for example, from a chronic respiratory disease, such as asthma or emphysema. They conduct tests to measure lung function and educate patients on how to manage asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder as well as other breathing disorders. RMCHCS' respiratory therapists work closely with the cardiology, pulmonology and sleep medicine providers to provide optimum services for patients. On staff is a certified neonatal pediatric respiratory specialist who is accredited by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association.
