Cardiopulmonary

RMCHCS's cardiopulmonary services department offers a comprehensive range of services in one location that includes respiratory and pulmonary diagnosis and care, cardiology services, cardiac rehabilitation and a sleep laboratory. The cardiopulmonary department is located on the second floor of this hospital.

Cardiology Services

Board certified cardiologists are on-site Monday, Wednesday and Friday and offer inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care. Cardiology services, such as cardiac stress testing, nuclear stress testing, EKG, Holter and Event Monitoring. Cardiology services are provided by Cardiac Care Consultants who offer a continuum of care for patients who are transferred to Albuquerque for a higher level of care. Pediatric Cardiology Services

Children with heart problems are seen by a pediatric cardiologist at College Clinic, by referral from the child's primary care provider.

Respiratory Therapy

The respiratory therapy department provides diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to assist providers in diagnosing and treating pulmonary disorders. Licensed respiratory therapists work with patients who have trouble breathing; for example, from a chronic respiratory disease, such as asthma or emphysema. They conduct tests to measure lung function and educate patients on how to manage asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder as well as other breathing disorders. RMCHCS' respiratory therapists work closely with the cardiology, and sleep medicine providers to provide optimum services for patients. On staff is a certified neonatal pediatric respiratory specialist who is accredited by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association.
